Job summary

NAFA Fleet Management Association seeks a Corporate Fleet Manager to own the full lifecycle of the organization's vehicle and trailer assets — from acquisition to disposal — ensuring safety, compliance, and on-time delivery support.

You will manage DOT/FMCSA compliance, budget, vendor relationships, and policy development for a growing fleet, with cross‑functional collaboration with Production Planning/Sales and senior leadership.

Qualifications

• Experience with interstate/DOT-regulated fleet compliance is preferred.
• Strong negotiation, budgeting, and contract management skills.
• Ability to design and administer vehicle policy frameworks.
• Analytical approach to fleet cost, utilization, and safety data.

Responsibilities

• Manage day-to-day operations of the truck and trailer fleet, coordinating with production and distribution.
• Own DOT/FMCSA compliance for intrastate and interstate operations, including IFTA fuel-tax reporting and hours-of-service logs.
• Maintain trailer compliance: inspections, tagging, cargo securement, and condition tracking.
• Develop fleet safety policies and driver qualification standards.
• Manage vehicle and trailer acquisition, leasing, and disposal through vendors.
• Own the fleet budget and identify total-cost-of-ownership reductions.
• Schedule preventive maintenance to minimize downtime and ensure delivery commitments.
• Maintain fleet records: mileage, service history, utilization, and compliance docs.
• Manage relationships with fleet vendors, fuel cards, insurers, leasing firms, and shops.
• Monitor driver behavior and safety compliance; flag risk trends early.
• Coordinate accident reporting and post-incident repairs.
• Evaluate new technologies such as telematics and fuel management systems.
• Partner with Production Planning/Scheduling and Sales on vehicle/trailer availability.
• Design and administer a company-vehicle policy framework for future sales fleet expansion.
• Prepare regular fleet performance and cost KPIs for senior leadership.
• Supervise fleet administrative staff if needed.
