Augusta County Fire-Rescue is seeking a Division Chief of Training to lead the training, development, and mentoring of career and volunteer firefighters and EMS providers in Augusta County.

The role requires managing the Training Division, developing education programs, and delivering timely training plans with coordination across agencies. Strong leadership and instructional delivery background are essential for this senior position.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Virginia EMT in good standing with the Virginia Department of Health.
• VDFP Instructor II certification or equivalent.
• VDFP Fire Officer II certification or equivalent.
• Emergency Vehicle Operator Course Class 3.
• Experience as a Fire Service and/or EMS Educator.
• Ability to obtain additional instructor credentials in both Fire and EMS.
• Duty Officer rotation availability and scheduling.

Responsibilities

• Support and work as part of a team to fulfill the agency’s Mission, Vision, and Values.
• Management of Training Division staff.
• Develop annual training plan.
• Prepare annual budget for the Training Division.
• Maintain training grounds, training center and equipment.
• Represent the agency’s interest regarding training with state and regional partners.

Education

High school diploma or GED

Virginia EMT in good standing

VDFP Instructor II certification

VDFP Fire Officer II certification
