Job summary

The Liberty County Board of Commissioners is seeking an Assistant Fire Chief of Training to lead the training division within the Fire Rescue Department. The role directs program development, teaches a range of courses, and ensures training aligns with state and national standards.

Qualified candidates will have a bachelor’s degree in a related field, 4+ years of related experience, and relevant certifications.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of fire suppression standards, practices, strategies, and equipment.
• Knowledge of local, state, and federal fire codes and regulations.
• Knowledge of public safety education practices and deliveries.
• Knowledge of computers and job-related software programs.

Responsibilities

• Develops, prepares, and evaluates training classes and materials for the department and training division.
• Sets training goals and plans to meet standards.
• Teaches courses for entry level firefighters through command and management.
• Schedules training and maintains training records.
• Prepares reports on training activities for authorities.
