Job summary

ATF is seeking a Budget Analyst to support the Financial Management Division’s Budget Branch in Atlanta. You will assist in formulating, justifying, presenting, and evaluating budget areas to improve efficiency and effectiveness of bureau financial management.

The role requires providing expert guidance to program managers on funds allocation and control, maintaining trackers for allotments and obligations, and preparing budget materials for leadership and stakeholders.

Qualifications

U.S. Citizenship is required and a background investigation will be conducted.
Selective Service registration is required where applicable.
Experience in budget formulation, execution, and financial tracking is required.
Ability to develop, justify, and present budget materials for leadership.

Responsibilities

Provide expert guidance to program managers on the allocation, use, and control of funds.
Support oversight of budget execution by monitoring inputs, outputs, and modifications.
Demonstrate knowledge of federal budget processes and applicable laws and directives.
Collaborate across Directorates to support ATF goals and mission.
Prepare budget materials, including justifications, operating plans, and funding reports.
