Wurth Industry US in Richmond, VA is seeking a Buyer - Domestic to manage procurement of products within assigned commodities, focusing on strategic sourcing, cost control, and supplier performance. The role requires independent judgment and collaboration with suppliers, internal teams, and logistics partners.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in supply chain management, operations, logistics, or a related field preferred; equivalent experience will be considered.
• Minimum of 3 years' experience in purchasing, procurement, or inventory management.
• Familiarity with forecasting, MRP systems, and end-to-end supply chain operations.
• Industry experience in distribution, manufacturing, or a related environment is a plus.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Office Suite; experience with SAP or similar ERP systems preferred.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a focus on data-driven decision-making.
• Effective communication and collaboration skills with the ability to influence internal and external partners.
• Self-starter with sound judgment, strong prioritization skills, and attention to detail.
• Demonstrated ability to drive process improvements and support cross-functional initiatives.
• Customer-oriented mindset with a proactive and adaptable approach to changing business needs.

Responsabilités

• Serve as the primary point of contact for suppliers within assigned domestic commodities, fostering strong vendor relationships.
• Manage the full procurement cycle by issuing and maintaining purchase orders and RFQs, and evaluating supplier responsiveness and competitiveness.
• Proactively monitor unconfirmed and past-due purchase orders; resolve delays and exceptions to ensure continuity of supply.
• Oversee and coordinate inventory transfers between company locations in support of operational and customer needs.
• Investigate and resolve discrepancies related to orders, invoices, deliveries, and product quality, partnering with stakeholders to drive resolution.
• Collaborate with suppliers to expedite, delay, or adjust shipments based on dynamic business needs and customer requirements.
• Align purchasing activities with demand planning, sales forecasts, and customer orders to ensure timely and accurate fulfillment.
• Develop and maintain relationships with alternative suppliers to reduce supply chain risk and improve competitiveness.
• Track and update product costs, supplier lead times, and commodity trends to support informed purchasing decisions.
• Leverage market data, pricing trends, and sales insights to continuously improve sourcing strategies and supplier performance.
• Partner with supply chain, operations, and finance teams to identify inefficiencies and lead process improvements.
• Support team members during peak periods or absences to ensure uninterrupted procurement operations.
• Perform other related duties as needed to support departmental and business priorities.
