Job summary

Wurth Industry North America is seeking a Buyer - Domestic to lead procurement for domestic commodities, focusing on strategic sourcing, cost control, and supplier performance. You will work with suppliers, internal teams, and logistics partners to ensure uninterrupted supply and aligned purchasing with demand plans.

The role requires independent judgment, strong analytical skills, and the ability to manage multiple priorities.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in supply chain, operations or related field; equivalent experience considered.
• Minimum 3 years' experience in purchasing, procurement, or inventory management.
• Familiarity with forecasting, MRP, and end-to-end supply chain operations.
• Experience with SAP or similar ERP systems.

Responsibilities

• Serve as primary contact for suppliers within domestic commodities.
• Manage full procurement cycle: issue POs, RFQs; evaluate supplier responsiveness.
• Monitor unconfirmed and past-due POs; resolve delays to ensure supply.
• Oversee inventory transfers between company locations.
• Investigate discrepancies in orders, invoices, deliveries, and quality; drive resolutions.
• Collaborate with suppliers to adjust shipments per business needs.
• Align purchasing with demand planning and customer orders for timely fulfillment.
• Develop relationships with alternative suppliers to reduce risk.
• Track costs, lead times, and commodity trends.
• Leverage market data to improve sourcing strategies and supplier performance.
• Partner with supply chain, operations, and finance to identify inefficiencies.
• Support team during peak periods.
• Perform other duties as needed.

Education

Bachelor's degree in supply chain management/related field

Bachelor's degree in International Business

Minimum 3 years' experience in purchasing/procurement/inventory management

Forecasting, MRP systems familiarity

Excel and Office; SAP or ERP experience

Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
