Job summary

City Electric Supply (CES) seeks a Business Development Manager in Raleigh, NC to drive revenue and gross profit growth across strategic contractors, data centers, and developers. The role centers on upstream specification selling, shaping designs, and building long-term partnerships with customers and suppliers.

The BDM will own the customer experience end-to-end, lead pricing and negotiations, and collaborate with NSD value-added groups, operations, and branches to ensure successful project

Qualifications

• 5+ years outside sales, business development, or project sales experience in electrical distribution or related fields.
• Demonstrated record of growing accounts and winning large, multi-phase construction projects.
• Working knowledge of power distribution equipment and the project lifecycle from design through construction.

Responsibilities

• Own revenue and gross profit growth for assigned portfolios including strategic contractors, data center owners, and developers.
• Lead upstream specification selling to get CES into designs and approved lists.
• Develop pricing and commercial strategy for major bids, negotiate terms with customers, and manage change orders.
• Lead quarterly business reviews and expand accounts with multi-year agreements and joint planning.
• Coordinate with branches, value-added groups, and operations to ensure smooth project delivery.
