Job summary

PLZ Corp is seeking a Customer Account Specialist in Downers Grove, IL. The role focuses on proactive customer service for customers and sales reps, with emphasis on order acceptance, scheduling, and pricing, while maintaining strong customer relationships.

The position requires problem-solving, adaptability to process changes, and strong communication to serve as the Voice of the Customer across internal systems and processes.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience preferred, ideally in manufacturing.
• SharePoint and Smartsheet experience preferred.
• Proficiency in Windows, Excel, Outlook and MS Office applications required.

Responsibilities

• Primary contact with customers and sales reps for orders, production dates, quantities, shipments and pricing.
• Manage assigned accounts and build relationships with accounts.
• Customer visits and dedicated calls.
• Assist in building customer profiles and documenting knowledge of customer expectations and delivery commitments.
• Process item setup, substitutions, returns and credits; assist with billing, shipping and product inquiries.
• Coordinate with plant scheduler to align the schedule with the client and ensure timely delivery.
• Maintain composure during complex exchanges; adapt to supply challenges while protecting order acceptance and schedule changes.
• Drive customer portal adoption and support special projects like allocations and pricing changes.
