Job summary

Turner & Townsend in Columbus, OH, is seeking a Cost Manager / Quantity Surveyor to support a major life sciences manufacturing campus project. You will work with project stakeholders to deliver complex multi‑phase developments and uphold our cost management standards.

The role requires a Bachelor’s degree in construction management or engineering, 3–5 years of cost‑management experience, and strong communication and stakeholder skills.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in construction management, cost management, quantity surveying, engineering, or a related field.
• 3–5 years of experience in a cost management role in construction.
• RICS accreditation or pursuing it is valuable.
• Experience supporting cost management on medium or large construction projects.
• Experience on manufacturing, life sciences, or large capital projects is beneficial.
• Construction consultancy experience is strongly preferred.
• Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.

Responsibilities

• Advise client on strategies, prequalification of vendors, bids, and bid leveling; attend bid interviews and manage appointment process.
• Develop project estimates including construction, fees, direct costs, and other costs; review estimations and present to client.
• Present value engineering recommendations and risk assessments to client; meet with vendors to review, validate, and challenge costs.
• Manage cost reporting by establishing reporting schedule and presenting cost reports and forecasts.
• Liaise with project managers to advise on contractor entitlements and change orders; manage payment requisitions and disputes.
• Oversee final accounting, post‑contract audits, and closeouts.
• Support cost management activities across multiple phases from planning to commissioning and closeout.
• SOX control responsibilities may apply.
