Turner & Townsend in the United States is seeking a Cost Manager / Quantity Surveyor to support life sciences construction programs. You will lead estimating, cost control, and reporting across multi-phase projects for a major campus expansion, interfacing with clients and project teams.

The role requires 3-5 years in cost management for large construction projects, preferably life sciences or manufacturing, and a track record of delivering on budget, value engineering, and risk assessment.

Qualifications

• Bachelors degree in construction management, cost management, quantity surveying, engineering, or a field related to construction.
• Minimum 3-5 years of relevant experience in cost management for construction projects.
• Experience in life sciences, manufacturing, or large capital projects preferred.
• RICS accreditation is valuable.

Responsibilities

• Advise client on strategies, prequalify vendors, assess proposals, bids, and bid levelling documents, and manage appointment process.
• Develop project estimates and review estimates from junior team members, present to client, and provide value engineering recommendations.
• Establish cost reporting schedule, review reports, and maintain risk registers with client engagement.
• Oversee cost control: payment assessments, change orders, and dispute prevention/resolution.
• Monitor invoicing process and benchmark performance against similar commissions.
• Lead final accounting, post-contract audits, and lessons learned documentation.
• Prepare handover procedures and support cost management across project phases.
