Job summary

Corewell Health Southfield Center is seeking a dedicated event coordinator to manage events for the service line, collaborating with Foundations and related service line affiliations. You will anticipate project needs, discern work priorities, and meet deadlines with little supervision, and be willing to work occasional evenings and weekends.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Communications, Marketing or Hospitality Management or related field.
• 2 years of relevant experience with office administrative management or in a work environment with transferable skills.
• 2 years of relevant experience coordinating special events / event planning.

Responsibilities

• Assists with negotiations for space contracts and book event space, arrange food and beverage, order supplies and audiovisual equipment, make travel arrangements, order event signs, and ensure appropriate décor.
• Conducts research, site visits, and resources to help staff decide on event possibilities; creates and revises room layouts; liaises with vendors; assists with on-site production and cleanup.
• Assists with budgets, progress reports to staff directors, tracks finances including invoicing and check requests, coordinates space visits and event calendars, and prepares/modifies event contracts.
• Maintains and communicates the overall calendar of events.

Education

Bachelor's Degree in Communications, Marketing or Hospitality Management or related field
