Job summary

Metropolis in Chicago seeks a Corporate Counsel to support the Senior Counsel in drafting and negotiating commercial contracts across multiple regions, with a focus on SaaS, IT, procurement, and government agreements. You will partner with Revenue and Operations to mitigate risk and drive strategic initiatives in a fast-paced tech environment.

A JD and Illinois or Tennessee license, 5+ years of transactional experience, and comfort with AI tools are required.

Qualifications

JD and active license or eligibility to practice law in Illinois or Tennessee.
5+ years of progressive corporate or transactional law experience.
Experience with commercial contracts including software, IT, procurement, and government agreements.
Ability to adopt AI tools to streamline workflows and improve output.
Strong writing, judgment, and ability to work under pressure with tight deadlines.

Responsibilities

Support Senior Counsel drafting and negotiating a broad range of commercial contracts.
Partner with Revenue and Operations to align legal strategy with business goals.
Mitigate risk and provide practical solutions for complex transactions.
Develop and implement AI-enhanced processes to drive efficiencies.
Coordinate disputes and manage outside counsel as needed.
Provide essential support to attorneys within the department.
