Job summary

Busey Bank is seeking a Commercial Underwriter to provide accurate, timely credit underwriting to support portfolio management and new business development. You will spread financial statements, analyze cash flow and leverage, and determine risk with Commercial Relationship Managers while preparing CCAR memos and evaluating collateral.

The role requires a Bachelor’s in Business or Finance and 3+ years of commercial credit experience, plus proficiency in Microsoft Office and knowledge of

Qualifications

• Strong oral and written communication skills.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
• Knowledge of financial accounting.

Responsibilities

• Spread and analyze financial statements per guidelines.
• Assess cash flow, liquidity, profitability, and leverage to gauge risk.
• Prepare CCAR memos with key risk factors for borrowers.
• Evaluate collateral and industry data for credit quality.
• Support portfolio management: monitor covenants and reports.
• Assist Relationship Managers with opportunity memos.
• Maintain knowledge of loan policy and systems (nCino).
• Assist in sales processes and customer calls with lenders.
• Approve loans within authority or escalate for review.
• Participate in pipeline meetings and identify opportunities.
• Perform other duties or special projects as assigned.
