Job summary

Busey Bank is seeking a Commercial Underwriter focused on CRE loans to provide accurate, timely credit underwriting for portfolio management and new business development. The role emphasizes thorough analysis of financial statements and collateral.

Responsibilities include preparing CCAR memos, evaluating risk, and supporting relationship managers. Requires a Bachelor's in Business/Finance and 3+ years of Commercial Credit experience.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Business or Finance required.
• 3+ years of Commercial Credit experience preferred.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to multi-task and meet tight deadlines.

Responsibilities

• Spread and analyze financial statements, compute DSCR/FCCR per guidelines.
• Assess cash flow, liquidity, profitability, and leverage to evaluate credit risk.
• Prepare CCAR memos with key borrower strengths and weaknesses.
• Evaluate collateral and industry data for credit decisions.
• Support portfolio management, monitor covenants and borrowing bases.
• Assist relationship managers with opportunity memos and sales calls.
• Maintain knowledge of loan policy and systems (including nCino).
• Participate in pipeline meetings and assist with special projects.
