Job summary

Busey Bank is seeking a Commercial Underwriter to provide accurate, timely credit underwriting to support portfolio management and new business development for the Relationship Managers they are assigned to support.

Responsibilities include financial statement spreading, ratio analysis, collateral evaluation, CCAR memo preparation, and portfolio monitoring, with collaboration across lending staff and Relationship Managers.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Business or Finance.
• 5+ years of Commercial Credit experience.
• Strong analytical and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Underwrite loans and approve within defined authority levels.
• Prepare Commercial Credit Approval Request memos (CCAR) with risk analysis.
• Evaluate collateral, industry data, and other credit information.
• Assist with portfolio management including monitoring covenants and monthly reports.
• Prepare opportunity memos for new and existing relationships.
• Support Relationship Managers with customer calls and loan development.
• Stay current with the Commercial Banking Loan Policy and systems (nCino).
