Job summary

Busey Bank in Urbana, IL is seeking a Commercial Underwriter to provide accurate, timely credit underwriting for CRE loans and portfolio management. You will analyze financial statements, assess cash flow, liquidity, profitability, and leverage, and prepare clear CCAR memos highlighting borrower strengths and weaknesses.

The role requires collaboration with Relationship Managers, knowledge of loan policies and nCino, and the ability to approve loans within authority or escalate decisions.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree with a concentration in Business or Finance.
• 3+ years of Commercial Credit experience.
• Excellent communication skills, both oral and written.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite.

Responsibilities

• Spread and analyze financial statements and calculate DSCR/FCCR per guidelines.
• Use cash flow, liquidity, profitability and leverage to assess credit risk.
• Prepare CCAR memos with loan risk assessment and borrower strengths/weaknesses.
• Evaluate collateral and industry data.
• Support portfolio management tasks and monitoring covenants.
• Assist Relationship Managers with opportunity memos.
• Maintain knowledge of loan policy and nCino.
• Assist in sales calls with Relationship Managers.
• Approve loans within authority; recommend higher approvals.
• Participate in pipeline meetings and renewals.
• Perform other duties or special projects.
