Job summary

BMO Financial Group, a leading bank, is seeking a Senior Commercial Credit Analyst to evaluate credit information and support lending decisions for a portfolio of commercial banking clients.

The role involves negotiating loan structures, assessing repayment capacity with financial models, and signing off on loans within authority. It requires strong analytical skills, risk awareness, and client-focused service.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree required; Business Administration, Finance and Accounting preferred.
• 5–7 years of relevant credit or lending experience in a corporate or banking environment.
• Deep knowledge of structuring deals, credit risk assessment, portfolio management and regulatory compliance.

Responsibilities

• Analyze credit information to support lending decisions for new and existing Commercial banking loans.
• Negotiate loan structures and terms aligned with client needs and bank risk appetite.
• Assess client repayment capacity using financial models and analytical tools.
• Sign off on new, renewal and extension loans within delegated authority.
• Monitor portfolio to identify deteriorating credit conditions and compliance risks.
• Identify revenue and cross-selling opportunities to grow the portfolio.
