Job summary

City of Maypearl is seeking a City Planner to manage planning and development projects, conduct research, prepare plans and reports, and present data to the public and council. The role requires strong writing, organization, and presentation skills, with front-line customer service and permitting duties in the permitting division.

The successful candidate will analyze zoning proposals, compile demographic and economic data, and develop planning documents while coordinating with local authorities

Qualifications

• Knowledge of zoning laws & comprehensive plans; adoption and implementation processes.
• Advanced research methods and statistical analysis.
• Ability to prepare and present technical reports to staff and City Council.

Responsibilities

• Analyze zoning and development proposals and present to Planning and Zoning Commission and City Council.
• Compile data on demographics, land use, and development activity for reports and studies.
• Develop municipal planning documents and amendments to plans and ordinances.
• Prepare public notices and assist customers with planning and development inquiries.
