Job summary

City of Maypearl seeks a permit technician to provide courteous service to contractors, residents, and design professionals. You will review applications for completeness, verify licenses and insurance, and process permits with accuracy.

You will assist with code interpretation, coordinate inspections, and maintain permitting records in a compliant, timely manner, supporting the Building Official and Development Services staff.

Qualifications

• Requires a high school diploma or equivalent and 2+ years in permitting, customer service, or construction-related admin work.
• Experience with building plan review, permit tracking systems, or construction documentation is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provides courteous, professional service to contractors, developers, design professionals, and residents regarding permits, codes, and submittal procedures.
• Receives, reviews, and processes building permit applications for completeness and accuracy.
• Verifies licenses, insurance, and registration compliance with local and state requirements.
• Calculates, collects, and receipts permit and impact fees; issues permits and maintains financial records.
• Schedules inspections and coordinates inspection requests with Building and Code Enforcement staff.
• Maintains up-to-date knowledge of adopted building codes and permitting procedures.
• Maintains records of permits, inspections, and certificates of occupancy.
