Job summary

City of Maypearl seeks an experienced planner to perform advanced current and long-range planning, analysis, and project management. This lead-level role coordinates complex zoning proposals from application to approval and guides others in similar tasks.

You will lead meetings, present to City Council, and help with hiring and performance evaluations. Requirements include a Bachelor's in Urban Planning (Master's preferred) and at least five years of related experience.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Urban Planning or equivalent; Master's preferred.
• Minimum five years of related work experience.
• Equivalent combinations of education, experience, certification and training will be considered.

Responsibilities

• Lead development review meetings and present cases to the Planning and Zoning Commission and City Council.
• Assign work and coach staff with specialized instructions.
• Assist with hiring processes and contribute to evaluations.
• Supervise volunteers and interns.
• Represent the Planning Department in the absence of the Planning Manager.
