Job summary

Sorren is seeking a Senior Assurance leader to oversee complex audits and regulatory reporting for diverse clients. You will serve as the technical authority on GAAP, GAAS, PCAOB standards, and SEC compliance, while guiding engagement profitability and staff development.

You will lead cross-functional teams, mentor managers, and partner with clients and regulators to deliver high-quality financial reporting and strategic insights.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting or related field.
• CPA license.
• 10+ years of assurance experience.
• Authoritative expertise in U.S. GAAP, GAAS, PCAOB, and SEC regulations.
• Experience leading high-profile and high-risk assurance engagements.
• Mastery of assurance technologies and analytics platforms.
• Mentoring Senior Managers and Managers through succession planning.

Responsibilities

• Provide strategic oversight for planning, execution, and delivery of complex assurance engagements (audits, reviews, agreed-upon procedures).
• Lead as technical authority on GAAP/GAAS/PCAOB/SEC reporting and advise on complex accounting issues.
• Direct preparation and external reporting of financial statements.
• Advise leadership on accounting standards trends and regulatory changes.
• Oversee engagement strategies, budgets, and profitability.
• Coordinate with external auditors and regulators as needed.
• Drive audit process innovation and new tool adoption.
• Mentor senior leaders and foster accountability and technical growth.
• Review major deliverables for clarity and compliance.
• Act as trusted client advisor on outcomes and internal reporting.
• Lead firm-wide business development efforts and client pitches.
• Promote firm values, inclusion, and industry involvement.
• Maintain technical leadership through continuous learning and thought leadership.
• Meet annual billable hour targets and team productivity.
