Job summary

Hitachi Energy is seeking an Account Director to oversee key customers from a US perspective, leading a remote/account team. The role focuses on growing orders, increasing wallet share, and driving customer satisfaction while coordinating with regional and global resources.

Location options include Richmond, VA; Columbia, SC; or Raleigh, NC, with remote work possible. The position requires senior-level leadership, strategic account management, and strong stakeholder engagement.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in a technical (engineering) or business discipline required.
• MBA preferred.
• 8 years of sales experience required, 10 years preferred.
• A combination of experience in sales, marketing, business development or related field will be considered.
• Diversity of experience – multiple products, customers, countries, market segments including transmission, distribution, and generation.
• Expert knowledge of selling to enterprise accounts.
• Proven ability to work in a matrixed team environment.
• Must be able to motivate and influence others.
• Experience with customers including sales, problem resolution, relationship building.

Responsibilities

• Manage the total customer relationship with Hitachi Energy.
• Develop the relationship between Hitachi Energy and the Strategic Account at all levels, including C-Level.
• Apply a high level of business acumen, understanding customer drivers and industry trends.
• Lead the development and implementation of the account plan and coverage plan.
• Drive growth in the assigned account and maximize wallet share.
• Serve as a lynchpin for resolution of major customer issues.
