Job summary

Salt Lake County is seeking a dedicated maintenance worker to perform semi-skilled and skilled upkeep on highways, drainage structures, and streams. The role involves snow removal, basic landscaping, and heavy manual labor in all weather.

Qualifications include a Utah CDL and DOT medical card, with CDLs required by hire; drug testing is mandatory. Duties encompass operating trucks, maintaining tools, and coordinating with staff and the public.

Qualifications

• Valid Utah CDL and DOT medical card required.
• Must maintain/class B CDL or obtain within 60 days of hire.
• Drug test required; random tests may occur.
• Ability to perform heavy manual labor in all weather.

Responsibilities

• Operate and maintain a variety of small hand tools and equipment.
• Set up traffic signs, cones, barricades, and flag traffic.
• Maintain/repair storm drains and drainage structures by clearing debris.
• Trim trees and haul away debris.
• Comply with OSHA and MUTCD safety rules and regulations.
• May operate trucks and snow removal equipment.
• Develop professional relationships with coworkers and the public.
• Other duties as assigned.
