Job summary

Salt Lake County is seeking a Maintenance Worker I/II to perform semi-skilled and skilled maintenance on roads, drainage structures, and canals. Responsibilities include snow removal, weed spraying, mowing, irrigation upkeep, and traffic control using signs and cones.

The role demands substantial physical labor in all weather and adherence to safety regulations. Qualified candidates must have two years of related experience (one year as Maintenance Worker II with Salt Lake County), a valid Utah

Qualifications

• Experience performing road/irrigation maintenance and repair.
• Capable of heavy manual labor in all weather conditions.
• Ability to follow procedures and safety rules.

Responsibilities

• Operate small hand tools and equipment for road and canal work.
• Conduct weed spraying on roadsides and county properties.
• Mow, trim, prune, weed, and maintain county properties.
• Set up traffic signs and cones; direct traffic safely.
• Operate heavy equipment including loader and backhoe.
