Job summary

Meijer Inc. is seeking an experienced retail leader to plan, direct, and supervise store teams across departments. You will mentor staff, drive customer service excellence, and ensure efficient operations to meet sales goals.

The role emphasizes staffing, coaching, and optimizing processes while maintaining Meijer standards and a safe work environment. Strong communication and conflict-resolution skills are essential.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or its equivalent.
• 2-3 years of related retail experience.
• One year of management experience.
• Rotational assignments in other areas of the store such as meat, bakery, produce and deli; also customer service and product flow experience is helpful.
• Demonstrated ability to communicate to team members with clear and precise direction.
• Demonstrated ability to resolve conflict and address root cause issues.
• Demonstrated ability to manage multiple tasks.
• Demonstrated ability to analyze financial and statistical information and use that information to make informed decisions.

Responsibilities

• Plan, direct and supervise team members in day-to-day store operations.
• Mentor and coach team members to meet customer service and sales goals.
• Implement strategies to improve customer service and drive store sales while meeting customer needs.
• Maintain store appearance with focus on prime shopping hours and product presentation.
• Ensure staff is trained and completes required training; spend time in-store communicating with customers and team members.
• Promote a safe work environment and implement Meijer Friendly Initiative in meetings and conversations.
• Handle staffing, selection and hiring to meet staffing needs; support promotion decisions and career development.
