Job summary

Meijer Inc. is seeking a store leadership role to plan, direct and supervise day-to-day operations across departments. You will mentor staff, drive customer service excellence and sales, and ensure store standards and safety are maintained during prime shopping hours.

The role emphasizes staffing, coaching, and accountability for promotions, with focus on rapid service and customer satisfaction within a family-oriented retail culture.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or its equivalent is required.
• 2-3 years of related retail experience.
• One year of management experience.
• Rotational assignments in other areas of the store are helpful.
• Demonstrated ability to communicate clearly and direct teams.

Responsibilities

• Ensure a positive company image by providing courteous, friendly, and efficient service to customers and team members.
• Responsible for staffing, selection and hiring to achieve staffing needs.
• Promotes succession planning by providing career paths and development needs for team members; involved in promotion decisions.
• Documents and applies disciplinary actions and makes recommendations concerning discharge.
• Responsible for P&L, achieving sales and maintaining shrink for the department.
• Models exceptional, fast and friendly customer service.
• Mentors and coaches the team to exceed customer service and sales goals.
• Ensures team is thoroughly trained and completed required training.
• Spends majority of time in-store communicating with customers and team members.
• Promotes a safe work environment.
