Job summary

Meijer is seeking a store leadership professional to guide daily operations, coach team members, and drive sales while delivering outstanding customer service. You will oversee staffing, training, and performance management to ensure adherence to company standards across departments.

With a focus on mentoring staff, you will implement strategies to improve service, maintain store presentation, and meet financial targets, while promoting a safe and inclusive work environment.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or its equivalent required.
• 2-3 years of related retail experience.
• One year of management experience.
• Rotational assignments in other store areas and customer service experience are helpful.
• Demonstrated ability to communicate clearly to team members and resolve conflicts by addressing root causes.
• Ability to manage multiple tasks and analyze financial and statistical information to guide decisions.
• Demonstrated leadership in creating a safe, productive work environment and mentoring staff.

Responsibilities

• Staffing, selection and hiring to meet staffing needs.
• Promote succession planning and provide career paths for team members.
• Document and apply disciplinary actions and make recommendations on discharge.
• Manage P&L, achieve sales and maintain shrink for the department.
• Model exceptional, fast and friendly customer service.
• Mentor team members to exceed customer service and sales goals.
• Ensure team training is completed and standards are upheld.
• Spend most time in-store communicating with customers and team members to deliver excellent service.
