Job summary

Dollar General is seeking an Assistant Store Manager to help run a clean, customer-first store. Under the Store Manager's direction you will supervise staff, manage merchandise, complete paperwork, and assist deposits to protect assets and reduce losses.

You will lead exceptional customer service, open/close the store several days a week, train employees, implement planograms, and maintain inventory with strong cash controls.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent strongly preferred.
• One year of experience in a retail environment and six months supervisory experience preferred.
• Ability to operate cash register and scanner; cash handling and deposits.

Responsibilities

• Provide superior customer service leadership and assist customers at checkout.
• Open and close the store a minimum of two days per week.
• Assist with scheduling, training, and safety meetings for employees.
• Follow processes to manage merchandise, stock, and displays.
• Maintain inventory accuracy and control damages and markdowns.
• Help implement planograms and ensure proper product presentation.
• Maintain cash controls, authorize refunds/overrides, count tills, and deposit money.
• Assist with store coverage in the Store Manager's absence.
