Job summary

Dollar General is seeking an Assistant Store Manager to help maintain a clean, well-organized store with a customer-first focus. Under the Store Manager, you will supervise staff, manage merchandise presentation, and assist with deposits and paperwork.

You will perform stocking and cashiering duties, support scheduling and training, ensure policy compliance, and help safeguard assets while maximizing profitability and customer satisfaction.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent strongly preferred.
• At least 1 year in retail with supervisory experience preferred.
• Ability to perform cash register functions and generate reports.
• Strong interpersonal and written/oral communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Provide superior customer service leadership; greet customers and operate cash register.
• Open and close the store a minimum of two days per week.
• Assist Store Manager with scheduling employees, training, safety meetings and policy compliance.
• Follow store processes to manage merchandise, including receiving, stocking and displays.
• Maintain inventory accuracy and cash control; manage refunds and deposits.
• Assist with planograms and store presentation; supervise in Store Manager's absence.
