Job summary

Dollar General is seeking an Assistant Store Manager to support the Store Manager in running a clean, customer-first store, supervising employees, and ensuring profitable operations.

You will assist with scheduling, training, stock and cash handling, planograms, and deposits while protecting assets and delivering friendly service to shoppers in a fast-paced retail environment.

This role requires reliability, strong communication, and the ability to work early mornings or evenings as needed.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent strongly preferred.
• One year of retail experience and six months supervisory experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide superior customer service leadership; greet customers and operate cash register.
• Open and close the store a minimum of two days per week.
• Assist Store Manager with scheduling and training of employees.
• Follow processes to manage merchandise: receiving, stocking, restocking, and displays.
• Assist in maintaining inventory and deposit controls.
• Assist in planograms and merchandise presentation per direction.
• Support cash control, refunds, and bank deposits.
• Assist with store management in the Store Manager's absence.
