Job summary

Dollar Tree seeks an Assistant Store Manager to support store operations, customer service, and team development. You will assist in opening/closing, supervise associates, and ensure merchandising standards.

Strong communication and leadership are essential to maintain a clean, safe, and welcoming store environment in our Woodside, NY location. This role offers growth opportunities within our retail network, with focus on adherence to company policies, loss prevention, and delivering outstanding

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred; ability to read, interpret, and explain operational directives is required.
• Store management experience in retail, grocery, or drug store environment is preferred.
• Must be able to lift up to 55 lbs. and perform physical tasks typical of store operations.
• Strong communication, interpersonal, and written skills are required.
• Ability to work in a high-energy, team environment is required.
• Exceptional customer service, organizational, and communication skills are required.
• Strong problem solving and decision-making skills are required.

Responsibilities

• Assist with store functions and day-to-day store activities.
• Help customers in a positive, approachable manner and address questions or concerns they may have.
• Transfer merchandise from delivery truck to stockroom to sales floor and maintain seasonal areas.
• Perform opening and closing procedures as needed.
• Process corporate directives and communications related to store activities.
• Maintain promotional fixtures and displays and ensure merchandising standards.
• Assist in ordering merchandise, processing damaged merchandise, record keeping, and loss prevention.
• Maintain clean, stocked and organized store areas; protect assets including cash.
• Adhere to policies and safety guidelines; ensure staff follow procedures.
• Help Store Manager supervise, train, and develop Store Associates.
• Foster a positive, safe, and respectful environment with customers, associates, and leaders.
• Maintain cleanliness throughout the store, restrooms, floors, and disposal areas.
• Other duties as assigned.
