Job summary

Dollar General is seeking an Assistant Store Manager to help run a clean, organized store with a customer-first focus. Under the Store Manager's direction, you will supervise staff, manage merchandise presentation, handle deposits, and ensure profitability while protecting assets.

You will also perform stocking and cashier duties, open/close the store weekly, schedule employees, train personnel, and enforce company policies to deliver reliable service and strong store performance.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent strongly preferred.
• 1 year retail experience and 6 months supervisory experience preferred.
• Strong customer service and communication skills required.

Responsibilities

• Provide superior customer service leadership; greet and assist customers, and operate cash register to itemize purchases.
• Open and close the store a minimum of two days per week.
• Assist Store Manager with scheduling employees, training, safety meetings, and policy compliance.
• Follow processes to manage merchandise: receiving, stocking, restocking, and displays.
• Assist in maintaining inventory accuracy and cash control procedures.
