Job summary

Dollar General is seeking an Assistant Store Manager to help maintain a clean, customer-first store and supervise staff under the Store Manager's direction. The role includes merchandising, paperwork, deposits, stocking, and cashiering to maximize profitability and minimize losses.

Qualifications

• Strong customer service and supervisory skills required.
• Basic math and cash handling knowledge.
• Ability to train staff and enforce policies.
• Experience in retail or similar environment preferred.

Responsibilities

• Greet customers and operate cashier to itemize purchases.
• Open and close store at least two days per week.
• Assist with scheduling and training of employees.
• Manage merchandise stock, displays, and planograms.
• Assist in inventory control and store security procedures.
• Handle refunds, cash control, and deposits.
• Support Store Manager in absence of manager.
