Job summary

Johnny’s Markets in Michigan is seeking an Assistant Store Manager to help run daily operations, supervise shifts, and keep the store clean, stocked, and welcoming for customers. You’ll lead customer service, train and schedule staff, manage HR duties, and collaborate with suppliers while working closely with the store manager to hit sales goals and control costs.

This full-time role requires a valid driver's license, the ability to lift up to 50 lbs, and a flexible schedule covering mornings,

Qualifications

• Strong communication with employees, customers, supervisors, and vendors.
• Detail-oriented, adaptable, and able to multi-task.
• Valid driver's license and access to personal vehicle.
• College degree or two years of related experience/training.
• Basic computer skills: Word, Excel, and email.
• Willing to work in any store area and operate a computerized register.
• Physical ability to bend, stand, walk, lift up to 50 lbs and carry up to 10 lbs.

Responsibilities

• Set the bar for customer service and ensure friendly, efficient service.
• Provide guidance to keep the team and store in top condition.
• Lead HR duties including training, scheduling, and supervision per policy.
• Pursue store goals to maximize sales while controlling expenses.
• Collaborate with suppliers and vendors professionally.
• Address complaints promptly to maintain customer happiness.
• Maintain store bookwork and share documents with home office.
