Job summary

Ross Stores is seeking a dedicated Security Specialist to maintain a safe environment at store entrances and on the sales floor. You will deter theft, greet customers, and partner with Store Leadership to implement Loss Prevention directives.

This role emphasizes teamwork, professionalism, and adherence to company policies, with physical duties and compliance requirements, including potential background screening and licensing.

Qualifications

• One year retail supervisor experience or similar training preferred.
• One year loss prevention/security training preferred.
• Active Security Guard License preferred
• Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
• Strong communication skills.
• Demonstrated ability to build and maintain relationships with the Store team.
• Excellent Customer service skills.
• Proven ability to effectively resolve conflict.
• Must be able to comply with all applicable federal and state laws and regulations for security positions, including but not limited to, additional background screening, physical examination, fingerprinting and/or drug and alcohol testing.

Responsibilities

• Maintains safe and secure environment for Associates and Customers.
• Provides visible presence and greetings at store entrances/exits and on the sales floor.
• Monitors for potential safety issues and enforces Code 50 policy.
• Assists Store Leadership in loss prevention directives and reduction of shortages.
• Protects Ross treasure and supports brand integrity.
• Trains and educates Associates on shortage reduction initiatives.
• Ensures proper checkout procedures and customer service standards.
