Job summary

Family Dollar in Florida is seeking an Assistant Store Manager to support daily store operations, customer service, and team development. You will help supervise associates, organize merchandise, and maintain store standards while upholding safety policies.

The role requires strong communication, a customer-service mindset, and the ability to work in a fast-paced, high-energy team environment. Prior retail management experience is preferred, with a focus on accuracy in record-keeping and loss

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Store management experience in retail, grocery, or drug store environment preferred.
• Must lift up to 55 lbs and be able to stand/walk for long periods.
• Strong communication, interpersonal and written skills required.
• Ability to work in a high-energy, team environment.
• Excellent customer service, organizational, and communication skills.
• Strong problem solving and decision-making skills.

Responsibilities

• Assist with store functions and day-to-day store activities.
• Help customers in a positive, approachable manner and address questions or concerns they may have.
• Help organize, and transfer merchandise from delivery truck to stockroom to sales floor as needed and ensure seasonal areas are maintained.
• Perform opening and closing procedures as needed.
• Process all corporate directives related to store activities.
• Maintain promotional effectiveness of store fixtures and displays.
• Assist in ordering merchandise, processing damaged merchandise, record-keeping (payroll, scheduling, cash register deposits and receipts), and loss prevention.
• Maintain a well-stocked sales floor and organized stockroom to company standards.
• Protect and secure all company assets, including store cash.
• Adhere to policies and safety guidelines; ensure associates follow them.
• Help Store Manager supervise, train, and develop Store Associates.
• Maintain a positive, safe, respectful environment with customers, associates, and leaders.
• Ensure store cleanliness including bathrooms, floors, trash, and neat presentation.
