Job summary

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent is preferred and the ability to read, interpret, and explain directives is required.
• Store management experience in retail, grocery, or drug store environment is preferred.
• Must be able to lift up to 55 lbs. and perform frequent physical tasks including standing, walking, and bending.
• Strong communication, interpersonal, and written skills are required.
• Ability to work in a high-energy, team environment is required.

Responsibilities

• Assist with store functions and day-to-day store activities.
• Help customers in a positive, approachable manner and address questions or concerns.
• Help organize and transfer merchandise from delivery to stockroom to sales floor and maintain seasonal areas.
• Perform opening and closing procedures as needed.
• Process corporate directives and store communications.
• Maintain promotional effects of storefront fixtures and displays.
• Assist in ordering merchandise, process damaged merchandise, record-keeping (including payroll, scheduling, and cash deposits), and loss prevention.
• Maintain clean and organized store areas, including stockroom and sales floor.
• Protect and secure all company assets, including cash.
• Adhere to policies and safety guidelines and ensure associates follow procedures.
• Help the Store Manager supervise, train, and develop Store Associates.
• Ensure a positive, safe, and respectful environment with customers, associates, and leaders.
• Maintain cleanliness throughout the store and restock bathrooms, sweep/mop floors, take out trash, and keep areas neat.
