Job summary

Dollar General is seeking a Store Manager to lead daily operations at a high-traffic location in the United States. You will recruit, train, and supervise staff while ensuring sales targets, inventory accuracy, and superior customer service.

The role requires enforcing company policies, maintaining safety protocols, and coordinating opening/closing routines. You will optimize staffing, monitor financials, manage merchandising, and ensure compliance with federal and state laws.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of cash handling procedures and cashier accountability.
• Ability to recruit, interview, hire and counsel staff within legal guidelines.
• Familiarity with inventory management and merchandising standards.
• Experience with retail loss prevention and safety policies.

Responsibilities

• Recruit, select and retain qualified employees and staff the store.
• Provide training, conduct performance evaluations, and counsel or terminate as needed.
• Suggest pay rate and advancement opportunities.
• Communicate performance and safety expectations; lead meetings.
• Open and close the store regularly and ensure proper staffing.
• Analyze sales and expenses to identify trends and opportunities.
• Manage ordering and inventory, including cycle counts.
• Stock, stage, and present merchandise per company standards.
• Maintain accurate inventory and control shrinkage and damages.
• Uphold cash control, security practices, and cashier accountability.
• Deliver superior customer service leadership and a safe environment.
• Ensure paperwork and documentation are completed on time.
