Job summary

Dollar General is seeking a store manager to lead daily operations at a high-volume location. You will recruit and train staff, manage schedules, and ensure adherence to company policies and safety standards.

You will oversee inventory, merchandising, pricing and customer service while driving sales, control costs, and maintain a secure cash handling environment. This role requires strong leadership and organizational skills in a retail setting.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent strongly preferred.
• One year of management experience in a retail environment preferred.
• Knowledge of cash handling procedures and cashier accountability.
• Ability to interpret diagrams, safety rules and operating manuals.
• Experience recruiting, interviewing, hiring, counseling and termination practices including legal compliance.

Responsibilities

• Recruit, select and retain qualified employees; ensure proper staffing.
• Provide training and conduct performance evaluations; counsel or terminate as needed.
• Set pay rate recommendations and advancement opportunities.
• Communicate performance and safety expectations; lead meetings and events.
• Open and close the store at required times.
• Manage inventory, stock replenishment and monthly cycle counts.
• Maintain merchandising, pricing, fixtures and signage.
• Uphold cash controls, security practices and store policies.
• Deliver superior customer service leadership and a safe environment.
• Complete paperwork and documentation on time.
