Job summary

Dollar General is seeking a Store Manager to lead a team in a fast-paced retail environment in the United States. You will oversee all store processes from ordering and receiving to stocking, merchandising and customer service, while ensuring compliance with safety and labor laws.

You will recruit and develop staff, manage performance, and maintain strong operations including opening/closing, scheduling and cash control. The role emphasizes leadership, communication and operational excellence.

Qualifications

• Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules and operating procedures.
• Ability to perform basic math including percentages.
• Knowledge of cash handling procedures including cashier accountability and deposit control.
• Experience with IBM cash register functions to generate reports.
• Knowledge of inventory management and merchandising practices.

Responsibilities

• Oversee all store employees and ensure effective planning and execution of store processes.
• Recruit, select and retain qualified employees; staff appropriately and conduct evaluations.
• Recommend pay rates and advancement opportunities for staff.
• Communicate performance standards, safety expectations and policies; lead meetings to reinforce policies.
• Open and close the store daily; ensure proper staffing and smooth operations.
