Job summary

Food Lion in United States, NC, seeks a Store Manager to lead daily operations, drive financial and sales results, supervise and develop associates, and uphold safety and quality standards across the store.

Reporting to store leadership, you will manage staff scheduling, training, and performance, act as Manager on Duty as needed, and model our Guiding Principles to deliver a clean, welcoming shopping environment that meets budgeted goals.

Qualifications

• College degree or equivalent preferred.
• Department Manager or equivalent experience required.
• Strong understanding of store operations and merchandising techniques.
• Excellent interpersonal, customer service and communication skills.
• Excellent organizational skills.
• Ability and willingness to learn multiple tasks and technical requirements of the job.
• Good judgment solving problems, making decisions, handling complaints, arbitrating disputes and resolving grievances.
• Desire and ability to lead and manage associates across multiple departments.
• Must meet physical requirements and age requirements.
• Accreditation as a Certified Food Safety Manager or ability to achieve within 90 days.

Responsibilities

• Hire, train, and develop store associates.
• Manage performance through coaching, appraisal and disciplinary actions.
• Provide leadership and motivate within the store to reflect company values.
• Maintain strong customer service focus and fast, easy service.
• Ensure control of all store funds and assets.
• Observe and correct unsafe conditions and ensure safety standards.
• Utilize financial reports, ACIS, scheduling, ordering, and business information systems.
• Support achievement of store budgeted financial and operating results.
• Serve as Manager on Duty when the Store Manager is absent.
• Assist the Store Manager with day-to-day operations and store-wide initiatives.
• Model customer service and reinforce company guidelines and standard practices.
• Maximize sales and minimize shrink through standard practices.
