Job summary

Qualifications

• Department Manager or equivalent experience required.
• Strong understanding of store operations and total store merchandising techniques.

Responsibilities

• Hire, train, and develop associates.
• Manage performance through coaching, appraisal and disciplinary efforts.
• Provide leadership within the store to promote Food Lion values.
• Maintain an atmosphere of enthusiastic customer awareness with emphasis on fast and easy service.
• Ensure proper control of all store funds and assets.
• Observe and correct unsafe conditions that could cause accidents.
• Ensure compliance with security, safety, and food safety standards.
• Use corporate tools and reports to manage schedules, inventory, and ordering.
• Support achievement of store budgeted financial and operating results.
• Serve as Manager on Duty when the Store Manager is absent.
• Assist with day-to-day operations of the entire store.
• Model excellent customer service and instill it in associates.
• Adhere to company guidelines, policies and practices.
• Develop associates to meet standards and improve performance.
• Maximize sales through service and minimize shrink.
