Job summary

Dollar Tree in Salinas, CA is seeking an Assistant Store Manager to support store operations, customer service, and team development. You will help supervise daily activities and ensure store standards are met.

Key responsibilities include merchandising, opening/closing procedures, loss prevention, payroll and scheduling, and coaching store associates to deliver exceptional service in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent is required/ preferred.
• Store management experience in retail, grocery, or drug store is preferred.
• Must be able to lift up to 55 lbs and perform physical tasks.
• Strong communication, interpersonal, and written skills are required.
• Ability to work in a high-energy, team environment.
• Exceptional customer service, organizational, and communication skills are required.
• Strong problem solving and decision-making skills are required.

Responsibilities

• Assist with store operations and day-to-day activities.
• Help customers in a positive, approachable manner and address questions or concerns.
• Organize and transfer merchandise from delivery to stockroom to sales floor and maintain seasonal areas.
• Perform opening and closing procedures as needed.
• Process directives, maintain display effectiveness and store standards.
• Assist in ordering merchandise, processing damaged merchandise, record keeping, payroll and scheduling, and loss prevention.
• Maintain a well-stocked sales floor and organized stockroom.
• Protect and secure all company assets, including cash.
• Adhere to policies and safety guidelines and ensure staff compliance.
• Help the Store Manager supervise, train, and develop Store Associates.
• Create a positive, safe, and respectful environment for customers and staff.
• Keep the store clean and neat, including bathrooms, floors, and trash.
• Other duties as assigned.
