Job summary

Kroger Family of Companies in California seeks a Store Manager/Department Manager to lead operations, enhance customer experience and drive store performance across all areas.

You will assist the store manager and associates, supervise teams, plan merchandising initiatives, implement action plans from surveys, manage budgets, reduce shrink, and foster relationships with the community and, where applicable, union representatives, while upholding company policies.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED.
• 1 year of experience as department manager, service manager, or equivalent experience.
• Store manager/district manager or direct manager approval.

Responsibilities

• Assist store manager & associates in the achievement of a favorable customer shopping experience and develop associate interest in customer service/relations.
• Assist store manager in leading teams in planning, implementing & executing merchandising/operating initiatives.
• Assist store manager with developing action plans/communications to associates on Associate Insight survey results.
• Work with department heads/store associates to identify store opportunities, develop timely solutions & create action plans to ensure plan implementation.
• Role model and demand a high level of customer service and resolve associate/customer issues.
• Manage total store operations in store manager’s absence.
• Drive sales by working with department managers to maximize sales & profits, reduce shrink & improve department contributions.
• Communicate necessary information to associates to help them carry out duties.
