Job summary

Dollar Tree Stores INC in New Albany, Indiana is seeking an Assistant Store Manager to help with store operations, customer service and team development. In this role you will assist with opening and closing procedures, merchandising, staff training, and loss prevention while ensuring a clean, safe, and welcoming environment for customers and associates.

You will partner with the Store Manager to drive performance, uphold company standards, and support daily tasks to create memorable shopping

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent is preferred; ability to read, interpret, and explain operational directives is required
• Store management experience in retail, grocery, or drug store environment is preferred
• Must be able to lift up to 55 lbs. and perform physical duties
• Strong communication, interpersonal, and written skills are required
• Ability to work in a high-energy, team environment
• Exceptional customer service, organizational, and communication skills
• Strong problem solving and decision-making skills

Responsibilities

• Assist with store functions and day-to-day store activities
• Help customers in a positive, approachable manner and address any questions or concerns
• Help organize and transfer merchandise from delivery truck to stockroom to sales floor
• Perform opening and closing procedures as needed
• Maintain areas of the store to company standards
• Protect and secure all company assets, including store cash
• Assist in supervising, training, and developing Store Associates
• Ensure a positive, safe, and respectful environment with customers and staff
• Maintain cleanliness and restocking of bathrooms, floors, and areas
