Job summary

Dollar General is seeking a Store Manager to oversee all store operations, staffing, and execution of policies. You will recruit, train, evaluate staff, and ensure compliant labor practices while driving sales and inventory performance.

Your role includes opening/closing the store, managing merchandising, pricing, and signage, as well as maintaining a safe, customer-focused environment. Prior retail management experience is preferred.

Qualifications

• Ability to read and interpret diagrams, safety rules, operating instructions and procedures.
• Ability to perform mathematical calculations including percentages and totals.
• Knowledge of cash handling procedures and deposit controls.

Responsibilities

• Recruit, select and retain qualified employees; ensure proper staffing and compliance with laws and policies.
• Provide training, conduct evaluations, and address performance gaps or counseling as needed.
• Oversee store opening/closing, merchandising, pricing, and signage to meet standards.
• Evaluate financials and inventory trends; manage ordering, stock targets and cycle counts.
• Ensure cash accountability, safety, and security across store operations.
• Lead customer service and maintain a clean, organized, and safe store environment.
