Job summary

Dollar General is seeking a Store Manager to oversee all store processes, including ordering, receiving, stocking, presentation, selling, staffing, and support. You will recruit and train staff, conduct evaluations, set pay and advancement, and ensure compliance with policies.

You will also manage daily opening/closing, inventory, merchandising, and cash controls while delivering superior customer service and maintaining a safe, clean store environment.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent strongly preferred.
• One year of management experience in a retail environment preferred.
• Knowledge of cash handling procedures and compliance with policies.

Responsibilities

• Recruit, select and retain qualified employees per labor laws and policies.
• Provide training, conduct evaluations, and counsel on performance gaps.
• Recommend pay rate adjustments and advancement opportunities.
• Communicate expectations and coordinate safety and policy adherence.
• Open and close the store multiple times per week and ensure staffing.
• Evaluate operating statements for sales, profitability, and shrink.
• Order to meet in-stock targets and manage inventory weekly.
• Present merchandise effectively and maintain pricing/signage.
• Maintain inventory accuracy and cash controls.
• Provide customer service leadership and a clean, safe store.
• Ensure proper tools, paperwork, and adherence to SOPs.
