Job summary

Dollar General is seeking a Store Manager to oversee all aspects of store operations in a fast-paced environment. You will manage staffing, training, and performance, while driving sales and controlling inventory and costs.

The role requires strong leadership, cash handling accuracy and knowledge of retail compliance. You will lead safety programs, ensure excellent customer service, and maintain a well-organized store.

Qualifications

• Ability to read and interpret safety rules, operating instructions and procedures.
• Ability to perform basic math and handle cash and deposits accurately.
• Experience with cash registers, reporting and inventory controls.
• Retail management experience preferred; knowledge of federal/state labor laws.
• Bilingual Spanish speakers may be preferred at some locations.

Responsibilities

• Recruit, select and retain qualified employees and ensure proper staffing.
• Provide training, conduct performance evaluations and counsel staff.
• Set pay rate recommendations and opportunities for advancement.
• Communicate expectations, conduct meetings and ensure safety policies.
• Open/close store as required and maintain daily operations.
• Monitor sales, profits, inventory turnover and adjust plans weekly.
• Order stock, manage replenishments and cycle counts.
• Ensure merchandise presentation, pricing and signage per standards.
• Maintain inventory accuracy, reduce damages and control shrinkage.
• Ensure cashier accountability and secure cash procedures.
• Provide superior customer service leadership and a clean, safe environment.
