Job summary

Dollar General is seeking a Store Manager to oversee all store operations, staffing, and processes including ordering, receiving, stocking, pricing and customer service. You will recruit, train, evaluate and retain staff, and implement policies to ensure safe, compliant operations.

Open/close responsibilities, inventory management and adherence to labor laws are core. Strong leadership, communication and problem-solving are essential to drive sales and maintain store standards.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent strongly preferred.
• One year of management experience in a retail environment preferred.
• Knowledge of cash handling and store operations is essential.

Responsibilities

• Recruit, select and retain qualified employees according to labor laws and company policies; ensure store is properly staffed.
• Provide training, conduct performance evaluations, and identify gaps for coaching or termination.
• Make recommendations regarding employee pay rate and advancement.
• Communicate performance, conduct and safety expectations; coordinate meetings and safety initiatives.
• Ensure store is properly staffed and opened/closed each day.
• Evaluate operating statements for trends, profitability and inventory issues.
• Review ordering plans to meet in-stock targets and manage inventory.
• Ensure proper merchandise presentation and pricing; maintain inventory accuracy.
