Job summary

Dollar General is seeking an experienced Store Manager to oversee all store operations, staffing, training, and cash controls. You will lead the team to deliver strong customer service, manage inventory, and ensure a safe, compliant shopping environment.

You will be responsible for opening/closing shifts, performance reviews, and implementing company policies across daily store activities in a fast-paced retail setting.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent strongly preferred.
• One year of management experience in a retail environment preferred.
• Knowledge of cash handling procedures and inventory controls.
• Ability to recruit, interview and train staff in compliance with laws.

Responsibilities

• Recruit, select and retain qualified employees and ensure proper staffing.
• Provide training, conduct evaluations, and counsel or terminate as needed.
• Oversee pay recommendations and employee advancement discussions.
• Communicate performance expectations and coordinate staff meetings.
• Open and close the store consistently, ensuring security and policy compliance.
• Monitor sales, turnover and expenses to identify trends and opportunities.
• Oversee stock replenishment, ordering plans and inventory management.
• Ensure merchandise is presented correctly with pricing and signage.
• Maintain inventory integrity, shrink control and cash accountability.
• Lead customer service and maintain a clean, safe store environment.
